Shopify Released 'Editions' recently which showcases all the new and upcoming features and functionalities within Shopify that we can leverage. Please see my recap below of the most exciting features and the full report here.
Shopify has significantly increased the reach of its global infrastructure, now spanning over 270 locations, leading to a checkout experience that is two times faster than the same period last year.
The most significant hindrance to eCommerce is the checkout process. Currently, Shopify's checkout involves multiple pages, but Shopify has worked hard to simplify it into a single-page experience with fewer required fields, making it faster and more convenient for customers. This change is expected to result in a 25% increase in conversion rates.
Shopify is streamlining the checkout modification process, enabling the use of the same drag-and-drop functionality present in the theme editor. This will make it easier and faster to customize the checkout and facilitate upsells, providing greater flexibility and control.
Shopify is enhancing the login process with Shop Pay, making it easier and more efficient. Customers can now use a verification code sent to their mobile or opt for face ID, which will automatically enter their information and create a faster checkout experience. More info here.
With Shopify Magic, you can have AI-generated product descriptions written for you, eliminating the need to do it manually. More info here.
With the introduction of MetaObjects, we no longer have to copy and paste identical content into multiple templates. We can now establish a single source of truth for reusable content across the website. More info here.
With Stackable Discount Codes, we can now apply multiple discount codes in a single cart to provide the customer with the most favorable discount available.
With the ability to further customize the Shop App, we now have the option to personalize product collections, descriptions, best sellers, and branding to better meet our unique needs.
With the new integration, you can now seamlessly sync and sell products on YouTube for a smooth and convenient experience.
Shopify has broadened its B2B capabilities by introducing several new features:
